Prequalification PQC

If you’re in the building industry, and want to be able to tender for Queensland government building projects greater than $250,000 in value, including refurbishment and maintenance jobs, or if you are a building industry consultant, chances are you will have sought prequalification (PQC).

The PQC System provides a comprehensive central register of prequalified building industry contractors and consultants, used by all state government departments.

Only building industry contractors on the PQC register will be eligible to tender for government building projects valued at more than $250,000.

Key trade and specialist contractors may also need to be registered on the PQC System if the Government tenders directly for a trade package exceeding $250,000.

All building industry consultants must also gain PQC registration to be eligible for commissions on government building projects greater than $10,000 or where the service risk rating is PQC level 3 or 4.

The PQC System does not apply to civil infrastructure projects such as roads, rail tracks, dams and bridges.
