Rockhampton Riverbank Redevelopment

The $16.5 million redevelopment of the banks on the Fitzroy River in Rockhampton opens up more public space to all kinds of activity and entertainment for the local community.

The project involved the creation of a riverbank that included fishing platforms, barbeque areas, picnic shelters, playgrounds, a toddler play area, an amphitheatre and a pedestrian and cycling loop that linked to both sides of the river.

Additionally, an extensive artwork program was implemented to include a range of elements such as amenity blocks that incorporate architecture to produce unique structures and finishes that represent animals important to the Rockhampton region.
