Role
Legal Services, while situated in the Department of Public Works, provides services to both the Department of Public Works and the Department of Housing, as well as Ministerial areas. It is responsible for overseeing the development of legislation and for independent legal advice related to the commercial, property and public administration activities of the Departments. The unit provides the legal management of public administration matters affecting the Departments, particularly freedom of information, privacy and judicial review matters.
