Education to Employment Scheme

The Department of Public Works offers financial assistance to Indigenous students completing years 10, 11 and 12 if they are successful in obtaining an Education-to-Employment scholarship. The department will pay school expenses and provide work experience leading to an apprenticeship or traineeship with us.

Scholarships are coordinated by the Department of Main Roads, with the Department of Public Works taking part as a sponsor. The scholarships are promoted in schools, with application kits available at the beginning of each school year.

The Department of Public Works offers these scholarships to students wanting to pursue careers in fields such as building and construction, administration, policy development, information technology, finance, marketing, management, purchasing, printing and fleet management.
