Code of Practice

Queensland's Code of Practice for the Building and Construction Industry outlines specific principles and standards of behaviour that underpin best practice and promote positive change in the industry.

The Code has bearing on such aspects as tendering, business relationships and workforce management.

It was drawn up in consultation with industry and unions and adopted in August 2000.

All contractors and consultants who want to be involved in Queensland Government building projects need to operate according to the Code. This is a prerequisite to gaining prequalification (PQC).
