Capital Works
Works Division acts as the landlord for government buildings and develops and implements policies that affect the building industry in Queensland. The division also provides services to ensure that participants in the Queensland building industry, whether in the private and public sectors, are achieving or surpassing best practice.
Programs - including the Prequalification (PQC) system for building contractors and industry consultants - ensure that the private sector is positioned to receive a fair share of government building work.
The Capital Works Management Framework (CWMF) is a whole-of-Government management framework that identifies critical risk areas in the planning and delivery of building projects, describes best practice processes for the effective management of these risks, and provides the linkage between existing policies and guidelines.
Project Services manages capital works projects from the planning, development and procurement stages through to office design and fitout following the successful completion of the new facilities. QBuild is also actively involved in the Government's major capital works program.
